Blake High School is a performing arts magnet
school located in Hillsborough County, Florida. Our facility was built
in 1997 and cost over $52 million dollars. Blake provides students in
grades 9-12 with interrelated arts, technology, and academic program.
This arts magnet program, housed within a traditional comprehensive high
school, offers a college prepatory academic curriculum in addition to
an intensive course of study in one of the following area: visual arts,
performing arts and communication arts. The Accelerated Curriculum Program
includes an array of online courses and distance learning formats along
with innovative scheduling of traditional and AP classes and hands-on
learning to motivate students to achieve their academic goals at an appropriate
pace.
Students are on block scheduling to accommodate the time needed in the
classes required for their major. Blake High School was named for Howard
W. Blake. A native of Tampa, Blake attended Florida A&M University, Claflin
University, and Atlanta University. His entire life was geared toward
guiding young people to their optimal education and vocational potential. |
